I'm so pleased with Tallahassee's Council on Culture & Arts, I want the whole world to know. (This is the drawing I emailed Leslie and Clint as a thank-you today.)
COCA is the group that hosted the show that just ended downtown, and they also do Creative Tallahassee, which was totally excellent last year. And they do this First Friday trolley thing, which is very cute and reliable and well-constructed. It does excellent things for the community, I think, to haul people all around town once a month and put them in front of art. Plus, of all the art-related entities and organizations I've met in my time in this city, COCA is far and away the most organized and worthwhile.
I won't tell you about the less-worthwhile ones. That would waste your time. But if you ask me sometime, I might. Because then you'd be wasting your own time, which is your right as an American.
Anyway, I like COCA. And I uploaded the preliminary sketch here, just for fun and comparison.
So COCA's a friendly beast? Anything willing to wear blue bunny slippers MUST be good What a cute way to show appreciation, oh so cute. And I love the wallpaper behind them...it's mesmerizing. ~K
